Why we exist

Most online business directories collapsed into pay-to-play services a decade ago. You pay, you get listed. There's no verification, no editorial standard, and no reason to trust what you read. Expert Directory launched in 2019 to do the opposite: build a directory where every entry is verified against public sources before publication, and where no company can pay to appear.

How we build a profile

Each company profile is assembled from three source types:

• Public filings and registers (Companies House, SEC EDGAR, Crunchbase, national business registers) for core facts — legal name, registered address, founding year, directors.
• The company's own website for description of products, services, and stated mission.
• Independent press coverage (Reuters, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, Forbes, local trade press) to corroborate stated claims.

Our editorial team reviews each draft, cross-checks the facts, and writes the final profile in neutral language. Profiles are re-verified on a rolling basis and updated when we identify material changes.

What we don't do

We do not accept payment for listings. We do not allow companies to write their own profiles. We do not publish testimonials or marketing copy. Where a company is inactive, closed, or has had a material change, we update or remove the entry.
